NEWS: Barillas to direct "Ironbound," by Pulitzer Winner Martyna Majok

[NoHo Arts District, CA] – Los Angeles Pierce College Theatre will continue its 2022-2023 Season beginning March 24 with the Martyna Majok’s Ironbound, a darkly funny, heartbreaking portrait of a woman for whom love is a luxury—and a liability—as she fights to survive in America. Performances begin Friday, March 24 and runs through Sunday, April 2, 2023 in LAPC’s Dow Arena Theatre.

At once humorous and heartrending, Ironbound spans 22 years to tell the story of Darja, a Polish immigrant getting by on a cleaning job, aggressive pragmatism and sheer will. In this wry drama, award-winning playwright Martyna Majok points out that sometimes survival is the only measure of success. 

LAPC Theatre’s production will be directed by Christian Barillas. The cast features Olia Medkova as Darja, along with Itzak Matos, Kris Hernandez, Joshua Gould, Angelo Rosales and Jacob Gonzalez.

The production features scenic design by Roya Row, costume design by Eileen Gizienski,  lighting design by Briana Pattillo, sound design by Edward Salad and projection design by DJ Medina. Danni Rabbani is the stage manager.
